Legendary Los Angeles Dodgers baseball broadcaster Vin Scully has died

If there's one name that's synonymous with the Dodgers, it's not any player, manager or team official. That is Vin Scully

Vin Scully began announcing games on radio and later on television

The Dodgers announced the death of Vin Scully in a tweet. He was 94 years old

It was his distinctive voice...the poetic and philosophical aspects, his ability to connect with the listeners personally.

Scully is as much a part of the team as the players on the ground

And there were many big moments in his career

Vin Scully compiled baseball statistics. But he did not rely on them

Finally, he decided that age had caught up with him. After 67 seasons, 2016 was his last

Vin Scully once said a player suffered an injury that made him "day-to-day." Then he paused, "Aren't we all?"
