Today launches the nation’s FIRST cervical cancer vaccination.

The first locally manufactured quadrivalent human papillomavirus vaccination (qHPV) against cervical cancer

Dr.Arora said,"we anticipate their introduction into the National Immunization Program for girls aged 9 to 14 years."

He said, “In fact, this is one of the last significant vaccines to be launched.

"It is very effective, If we give it to our children and daughters, It will prevent the disease" Arora said.

He also added, there is a shortage in international market, now we can meet our needs with Indian made vaccine

Union Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh will launch the vaccine at IIC Delhi

In India, cervical cancer is the second most common malignancy among women of ages between 15 and 44

The DCGI’s approval had come following a recommendation by the Subject Expert Committee
