'A League of Their Own' TV show dives 'deep' into queer history of women's baseball
The show was set in the world of women's professional baseball in the 1940's
The movie left an impact on Chante Adams, who co-stars in "League"
It was a sports movie led by women
But unlike the film starring Geena Davis and Madonna, the series doesn't address the realities of race and sexuality.
Instead multiple queer characters and women of color are placed at the center.
It was about diving deeper and telling more stories inspired by real women who play baseball
As similar to show, the AAGPBL imposed strict rules, the women should wear lipstick and skirts on the baseball field
Furthermore, Illinois did not decriminalize homosexuality until the early 1960s.
The queer people were forced to keep their relationship behind closed doors
