The Tata Tiago EV, the newest electric vehicle from Tata Motors, has been introduced in India. There are two options smaller 12.2 kWh battery size has an introductory price of Rs. 8.49 lakh, and the bigger 24 kWh battery size has an introductory price of Rs. 9.09 lakh. According to Tata Motors, this offer is valid for the first 10,000 customers who reserve the Tiago EV. 2,000 of these slots have been reserved for Tata Nexon and Tata Tigor EV customers who have already purchased a vehicle in the past. Tata Tiago EV bookings begin on October 10 and deliveries begin in January 2023.
The battery size and the motor of the Tata Tiago EV have an IP67 waterproof rating since Ziptron architecture from Tata Motors is used in its construction. A guarantee of 8 years or 1.6 lakh kilometers will be offered by the company, whichever comes first.
Tata Motors further claims that the 55 kW motor coupled with the long-range battery pack enables the Tiago EV to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in under 5.7 seconds. The smaller battery size, on the other hand, has a torque output of 105 Nm and will complete the aforementioned sprint a little bit more slowly.
In terms of charging, the Tiago EV is compatible with a 15A power socket that can be utilized in an emergency. In addition, the company is offering a 7.2 kW AC charger that can allegedly charge the vehicle to 100% in 3 hours and 36 minutes. Additionally, the Tiago EV offers DC fast charging, allowing for a 57-minute charge from 0 to 80 percent.
Remember that models with smaller battery pack can only use 3.3 kW chargers with 15A power socket. Both of these choices are supported by the variations with the larger battery pack, in addition to the 7.2 kW AC charger.
