The only cricketer who changed the game’s dynamics was Vivian Richards. Richard was a complete nightmare for even the best bowlers because he was so far ahead of his time. As a huge fan of Indian cricketers, Vivian has always had nothing but love for the entire Men in Blue as a team. Recently, Vivian Richards opened up on several aspects of Indian cricket in an exclusive chat with journalist Vimal Kumar.
Vimal Kumar questioned Sir Vivian Richards about his opinion of Virat Kohli and the calls for his retirement, using the example of Sachin, who was under pressure to retire in 2007 after a poor performance.
“To be honest, I am aware that these two people have performed admirably in the cricketing community; they are outstanding players. I don’t want to discuss their playing style. I hold them in the same regard as Sunil Gavaskar, who I have competed against. I appreciate excellent batting, and India has produced some great batsmen throughout the years, remarked Richards.
In response to a question about Rohit Sharma, Vivian Richards the West Indian player expressed his admiration for Rohit . Sir Vivian Richards remarked, “I have always admired Rohit, especially when Virat was the captain — before he handed the captaincy to Rohit.
Vivian Richards responded that he doesn’t believe that way because India has developed numerous high-quality fast bowlers throughout the years when asked whether there is any current Indian bowler he would have liked to face during his playing days. Richards praised the Indian team as well, saying that they now have a really strong set-up.
“Not really, considering how wonderful fast bowlers you have developed throughout the years and how well they have performed. People used to believe that Indian bowling was only built around spinners, but your team has performed very well over time. You have some excellent all-around players, and the Indian team appears to be good, added Richards.
