A viral video has surfaced on social media showing a plane making an emergency landing on a highway in North Carolina. On July 3, his plane suffered engine failure, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing. However, the pilot managed to land safely through traffic without harming anyone.
There were two people on board, a pilot named Vincent Fraser and his father-in-law. They were flying over Swain County when the engine began to fail. The Swain County Sheriff’s Office shared a video on their Facebook page congratulating the pilot for landing safely.
“This is the view from the pilots camera pro camera from the cockpit of the plane as it made an emergency landing on Hwy 74 on Sunday July 3rd, 2022. What a great job, no injuries. If you look closely at 0:20 you will see the power lines that the pilot could have avoided. There are so many things that could have been catastrophic. , but they didn’t happen. Sheriff Curtis Cochran,” read the post.
As the plane began to descend, Fraser immediately began looking for a safe place to land. “The first thing that went through my head was, I don’t want to hurt anybody, I don’t want to kill anybody. So, you know, that was my main concern,” Fraser said in an interview.
He said that he tried to restart the plane and tried to fly a bit so it would only fly for 3-5 seconds and then dive again.
Fraser was able to bring the plane down by carefully maneuvering clear power lines and vehicles on the highway.
