The Mini Cooper SE sports the same design language as the ICE version with circular headlamps with circular LED daytime running lights and Union Jack LED tail lamps. The SE’s electrical elegance is striking, with a closed grille at the front, tweaked front and rear bumpers and missing exhaust tips. Mini has added a touch of bright ‘Energetic Yellow’ highlights on the S designation car and unique square design wheels. The car is available in four color options – White Silver, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, and British Racing Green.

The dashboard is similar to the internal combustion variants and gets a 5.0-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8.8-inch infotainment display. There is a switch on the central console for level adjustment of the brake-regeneration system. Bright yellow is also used in the cabin with cloth or leatherette upholstery.

The Mini Cooper SE comes with a 184bhp electric motor that powers the front wheels from a 32.6kWh battery pack arranged in a T-shape under the floor of the car. It has a 0-100kmph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds. Mini claims the car has a range of 270 km. The battery goes up to 80 percent in 36 minutes with the fast 50kW DC charger, and 80 percent in 2 hours 30 minutes with the 11kW AC fast charger (complimentary with the car). A home charger with 2.3kW will take more than 9 hours to juice the battery up to 80 percent.

BMW Group India President Vikram Pavaha said, “The first all-electric MINI has been a great success and continues to be in great demand. We are delighted to re-open bookings for the newly enriched profile of MINI Electric. The MINI 3-Door Cooper SE combines MINI’s innovative spirit and iconic design, instantly of torque, zero emissions and a low center of gravity add to its legendary go-kart feel. MINI Electric’s huge popularity in a short time proves its position as a pioneer in the transition to electric mobility.”
