Singer Amy Grant was hospitalized after a bike accident in Nashville on Wednesday.
Grant, 61, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was treated for abrasions and cuts after falling off her bike while riding with a friend. A spokesperson for the “Baby Baby” singer told Fox News Digital that Grant was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Grant’s rep shared that she is in stable condition and remained in the hospital Wednesday night as a precaution. Will stay again Thursday night for further observation.
Grant’s cycling accident came two years after she underwent open-heart surgery to correct a heart condition she was born with but recently diagnosed with.
The Christian singer was diagnosed with Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return, or PAPVR, which is the improper distribution of blood through the chambers of the heart. She confirmed her surgery in June 2020.
“I think women tend to put their health on the back burner,” Grant said on “Good Morning America” last February.

It’s like, “Oh, my kids, my grandkids, my job, my spouse.” For all these things we need the gift of one another. So even if you go, ‘Oh, I didn’t get anything on the radar,’ get somebody else to check it.”
Earlier this month, Grant was named one of five recipients of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. She will be honored on December 4th at the Kennedy Center Opera House stage in Washington, DC.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would receive these prestigious Kennedy Center honors,” she said. “Over the years, I have seen many of my heroes with colleagues and fellow artists, and the talent of music and film has always made us come together and see the best in each other.
“I can’t wait to celebrate with my fellow honorees, friends and family. Thank you for widening the circle to include all of us,” she said.
Grant, who has been married to her husband Vince Gill, 65, for more than 20 years, is a six-time Grammy winner with famous crossover pop hits like “Baby, Baby,” “Every Heartbeat” and “That’s What Love Is. For.” She sold more than 30 million albums, including her five-time platinum 1991 record “Heart in Motion,” which introduced her to a large pop audience.
